The "pasty" is a traditional food item that is an absolute must for any trip to the Upper Peninsula.  It consists of a pie crust stuffed with meat or veggies.  They come in three flavors: meat with rutabaga, meat without rutabaga, and vegetarian.

Susa's mother, in particular, loves this place. Although the fare is generally better suited to people of the carnivorous persuasion, Susa does confirm that they have fabulous tap rootbeer.
